ePLDT VITRO Makati 2 is Expanding – Here’s How It Can Help Enterprises
ePLDT has expanded its flagship data center, VITRO Makati 2, and ready to serve more hyperscalers and enterprise clients. The additional 1,568 racks and 5.9 megawatts of IT power will bring the data center’s total capacity to 3,360 racks running on 12.3 megawatts.
Bigger & Better VITRO Makati 2
Victor S. Genuino, President and CEO of ePLDT said, “VITRO Makati 2 has achieved its total utilization rate and this expansion will guarantee that ePLDT is able to accommodate more enterprises and keeps up with the country’s ever-increasing data center demands.”
VITRO Makati 2’s additional racks and megawatt power, which are operational as of January 2023, will expand the data center’s colocation and connectivity services. The data center also offers disaster recovery seats that personnel can access when necessary.
Other compliances for VITRO Makati 2 are the PCI-DSS certification and its different ISO certifications for Business Continuity, IT, Information Security, Environmental and Quality Management Systems.
Building the First Hyperscale Data Center in PH
In addition to VITRO Makati 2 expansion, ePLDT is building the first hyperscale data center in the Philippines located outside Manila in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. Upon completion, VITRO Sta. Rosa will have 4,500 racks running on 100MW IT power, making it largest and most advanced data center in the country. The facility is planned to be ready for operation by early 2024.
“We take pride in the standards and reach we have achieved with our data centers. We will continue to scale and push boundaries to make ePLDT the premier data center hub in the Philippines,” Genuino added.
ePLDT currently operates ten data centers throughout the country, offering a total rack capacity of nearly 10,000 to meet the requirements of small, medium, and large enterprises across various industries, including banking, financial services, outsourcing, telecommunications, and gaming.
