CuroTek gives back to Dumagat Tribe
Tanay, Rizal. June 6, 2019— CuroTek opens the month of June with Brigada Eskwela 2019 in Paadelan E Denomagat Elementary School at Sitio Nayon, Brgy. Sta. Ines, Tanay, Rizal held last June 1, 2019.
As part of their efforts to give back to the community, CuroTek employees went to one of the most secluded sectors in the region. With limited access to education and learning tools, the indigenous people of Dumagat Tribe struggle to provide quality education for their next generation.
During the outreach event, CuroTek employees shared a fun-filled day with Dumagat Tribe. “We personally have seen the current situation of our brothers in the secluded areas in the mountain. Marami pang lupain ang hindi nagagamit nang maayos para pakinabangan ng susunod ng henerasyon,” said Marvin Millo, IT Operations of CuroTek.
“May fulfilment sa pagtulong sa kapwa lalo pa’t ginagawa ko ‘yon kasama ang mga officemates ko,” said Ian Sardenia of CuroTek’s Workforce Department. Meanwhile, Juvy Bendian of Talent Acquisition team mentioned that seeing the smiles on children’s faces became the highlight of her day. Similarly, JD Ocampo from Human Resource added that he realized how blessed he is in life and that the Dumagat children deserve to have access to good education as well.
CuroTek donated 150 rubber slippers, 400 storybooks, and bags, 6 boxes of used clothes, school supplies, toiletries, and blackboard.
“Mayroon lamang isang guro dito, si Teacher Diday. Isa rin siyang Dumagat. Nagtapos sa Maynila at ngayon siya na ang natuturo sa mga bata dito. Itong mga dala niyong mga gamit makakatulong yan nang sobra-sobra sa mga bata,” Tatay Lupe, Dumagat Tribe Captain shared his sentiment.
