Robinsons Land Corporation optimizes business operations with ePLDT cloud solution
Manila, Philippines [9 August 2023] – Gokongwei Group’s Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC) continues with its aggressive digitalization thrust by migrating 63% of its workload to Microsoft Azure with the help of its strategic partner, ePLDT, the ICT subsidiary of PLDT. The migration to the Cloud is aligned with the Gokongwei Group’s goal of becoming the first truly digital conglomerate in the Philippines.
RLC, whose operations span from lifestyle centers, offices, residences, hotels, destination estates and industrial facilities, is the first entity within the Gokongwei Group to migrate on-premises IT infrastructure to the cloud without business interruption because of its impactful design strategy implementation of cloud agnostic architecture. This step is seen to enhance overall customer service, improve business efficiency and security as well as optimize costs.
“We are continuously identifying opportunities to innovate so we can provide better services to both our internal and external customers. The adoption of Microsoft Azure, through our collaborative partnership with ePLDT, equips us with the infrastructure and expertise to accelerate our digital transformation,” expressed Frederick D. Go, President and CEO at RLC.
This partnership also forms part of PLDT Group’s vision to support the Philippines’ digitalization goals by working closely with local enterprises such as RLC.
“PLDT is fully committed to advancing the digitalization of enterprises in the Philippines. As a trusted business solutions partner, we stand ready to enable and support the needs of enterprises through our end-to-end connectivity and tech solutions across all industries, such as real estate,” said Alfredo S. Panlilio, PLDT & Smart President and CEO and ePLDT Chairman.
By deploying Microsoft Azure as RLC’s primary cloud platform, ePLDT was also able to help the real estate company reduce IT costs by eliminating the need for hardware and software technology refreshes. RLC can also take advantage of robust uptime for critical operations and instantaneous maintenance updates which could further contribute to higher business productivity.
“We are pleased to scale up our partnership with RLC as they take greater strides in their corporate-wide digital transformation efforts. Through ePLDT’s multi-cloud solutions, we are confident that RLC will be able to deliver enhanced services and cater to their customers’ real estate needs more effectively than ever before,” said Victor S. Genuino, President and CEO at ePLDT.
A secure cloud migration
As part of ePLDT’s commitment to providing a secure migration, it has also fortified RLC’s security posture by implementing Palo Alto Networks’ firewall and backup solutions. In addition, training and workshops were also provided to RLC employees to sustain a successful and secure cloud journey.
RLC’s Information Technology Head and Chief Information Officer, Eric Nacional, also stated that their IT team commended the collaboration extended by ePLDT. He shared that the ePLDT team played a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless migration within the timeline, all while maintaining top-notch security measures. This allowed RLC to achieve critical success factors with zero downtime.
Looking ahead, RLC also expressed its intentions to invest heavily in AI solutions in the coming years to better manage customer data, enhance customer services and support, and streamline business processes.
“Providing solutions that empower partners like RLC to remain at the forefront of their industries and streamline operations is at the heart of our long-term commitment to them. As their trusted allies, PLDT Enterprise and ePLDT will continue our mission to foster their success in real estate. By fulfilling their digitalization needs and fueling their drive for innovation, we’re propelling their visions further into the realm of possibility,” added Mitch L. Locsin, First Vice President and Head of Enterprise and International Business Groups at PLDT and Smart.
